Well, the one is set in the City as it was at the time. It didn't really dip into current events, outside of being centered on imPorts. That's really its only focus. The other didn't feature anything that tied it to that world, it was about another era in another city on another world entirely.
Well, either way. They are very one-of-a-kind pieces. I find it very impressive that these items came with you to this world from that one. Are you willing to allow them to find a home in this new library? Even only a temporary home if you would not want to give them up completely.
I could offer them on loan, I think. Though perhaps with the understanding that ownership will turn over to the library in the event of my final exPortation.
[ Probably the rest of her books, too. There are probably others that don't exist on this world that she hasn't thought about. ]
That is an arrangement I most certainly can agree to. I'll have them enchanted by a magic user I know so that they cannot be stolen or removed from the shelf for longer than the agreed upon time. I fear that everything in Maurtia Falls needs a little bit of extra protection these days, unfortunately.
Oh, believe me, I was formerly a resident and a crimefighter in the Falls. I know just how it can be.
But that should be fine, have your mage put whatever protection you feel is appropriate, as long as it doesn't bind me from them. When will you need them donated?
[ With mild amusement: ] My condolences. I certainly cannot blame you for retiring from that job.
But as for the donation, you can feel free to drop them off at any point in time between now and the library's opening. I believe it will likely be delayed until April, so you have plenty of time.
