did you have high school on your planet

we didnt
but when youre 14 the fact that youre an alien is immaterial to the people who think you should be schoolfed
and when youre new to the planet anyway you begin to think that maybe there could be some merit to learning more about it
so i endured two years before i grew tired of it
by then i had to provide the primary income for my compatriots so there were far more pressing areas for my time to be focused

i dont imagine i could speak to what earlier forms would look like if theres any differentiation
but its possible that we simply have less mind to complain when we are younger

so in other words this planet prepares its young for mediocrity as early as it can manage
