A weird side effect of whatever happened?
When did this all happen anyway? And was it a specific location or was it spread out?

it was last friday
but i couldnt speak to the exact spread
i dont think any of the others i encountered resided in maurtia falls
and i find it unlikely that they were all just up for a visit at the specific time
either way i think the vision or whatever we may decide to call it was set in de chima

Seems like every time I have my back turned for a second something else goes down and I wasn't there to help.
Not sure how I would or could have in this case... but I still feel kind of bad.

thats the drawback to an overdeveloped sense of responsibility
everything becomes your fault whether you it had anything to do with you or not
its a phenomenon ive been encountering with an alarming frequency recently
and even without looking in the mirror

how much have you heard about whats been going on in maurtia falls

Before I was ported out I heard about a group of imPorts trying to do something about the level of crime and corruption.

im not only an agent of that group
im sort of their co-founder

Please tell me this group knows what it's doing.

it would be a disservice to say that there are no clues to be had among the lot
but there have been missteps
even so i believe very firmly in the goals that we have been formed to achieve
our purpose is centered on lasting change to the citys deep-rooted corruption over believing the job is done by simply patrolling against street crime

What kind of missteps?

suffice to say that we have had certain campaigns against the organized criminal element that have been more incisive than effective

just as a word of advice if you ever decide to steal from someone in an effort to defund their operations
make sure you steal enough that they cant really afford to retaliate

Out of curiosity, what made stealing a good idea?

[ Not aware they were stealing back from criminals, so right now it sounds a bit like fighting crime with crime. ]

well as i said the point is to take a more long term approach to overthrowing a criminal dynasty
the thought must have crossed someones mind that a vulnerable area to strike would be their wallets
so we robbed one of their largest laundering centers
as one does

i handled the take personally i can account for every penny and tell you where it was ultimately donated
but while it may have been an amusing theory in practice it didnt deal the blow we hoped
and instead only made them cross enough too focus their attention on wiping us out

Actually, it's not a bad idea. Once you remove their resources you remove much of their power.
I've heard quite a number of things about Maurtia Falls and how easy it is to pay people off there.

[ But if you don't have the money, you've only got muscle to a degree. Muscle still has to be paid for. ]

How's your group faring?

yes the theory itself is sound its only the application of it that can be tricky
you have to ensure that the resources you remove are of a sufficient amount to devastate their process
and while it was a rather significant location apparently ten million dollars wasnt enough to cripple them

they still own the police
we are working on that currently
but one month ago those very police initiated a raid that ended with the arrest of three of our members the destruction of much of the evidence we had collected and the seizure of our base of operations
we have managed to regroup in the aftermath but its unlikely ill be getting my bar back

[ Oh. She owned a bar btw. No big, though Karen might've had some inkling about her association with it, since they met just outside it on Mother's Day. ]

Is there any evidence you were all able to salvage?

[ She's old enough now she might've been able to reopen it if she weren't using it as the base of a dubiously legal vigilante group. That's money, Karen! ]

there was some but not all of course
We Have Put some work into reestablishing what was lost but it hasnt been a perfect process

Do you think the operation is working or going to?

well we havent died yet and thats something to be said for us
though we are actually pretending to have
so probably keep mum about that if you wouldnt mind
