Drawbacks? Well, I only have what she's told me to speak from, but...it doesn't seem to work well when there isn't a success to be had. And even then, perhaps that success won't be immediate, nor account for any difficulties along that path.

It's possible that she had used in in January, only to have those events occur as just another step on the path we are still on. So it focuses on the big picture while losing many details.
